User Accounts in the Codic Engine .Net

Warning:   User accounts in CE.Net run off an XML .Net database.  As such, we still cannot predict how the database will react with many people logged in simultaneously.  As long as we have less than a hundred users, the user accounts section should work well.

User Account Creation:
Login Name:
Handle (read below):
First & Last Names:
Email Address:

Password:
Retype Password:

Registering a user account means you abide by our terms of service, shown below.  In short, we will allow you to store your codes on the site and use the free web services as long as all users "play nice" and no catastrophic problems arise with the database or site speed.  Currently, you can only store one code per code set.  Later, I will change that over to storing no more than five codes, regardless of code set.  If you have any questions or suggestions for other services to offer or changes to our current service, please contact us at Kaine at PhoenixPo.com.

Handle:   I limit the login name to fifteen characters.  However, many people online have longer aliases than that.  For instance, if your online alias was "Da Ultimate Sport Fan", that would be your handle and "sportfan" could be your login.  Whenever people see your codes, it will show your handle rather than your login name.

Terms of Service:

By registering a user account under the Codic Engine .Net page, you agree to our terms of service.  PhoenixPo.com provides this service as a courtesy to all Codic Engine .Net patrons on an "as is" basis.  We reserve the right to delete user accounts or forbid user accounts at any time for reasons such as the database reaching more than 30MB, malicious actions by any user, or problems with the XML database.  Because this is a free service, we will not be held liable for any injuries, loss of data, or harm done as a result of this service.  Changes to the terms of service will be posted under the user account's "News" panel and all users have fourteen (14) days to delete their accounts if they do not agree with the new terms.  Any user accounts existing after those fourteen (14) days or created the day of the terms change will automatically be assumed as accepting the new terms.

Users are currently able to store only one code per code set.  Later, we will give users options of storing no more than five codes per user account, regardless of the code sets used.  We will provide notification of this and any terms of service change through the user account "News" panel.

The accompanying web service for retrieving user accounts from remote web sites is provided free of charge and on an "as is" basis.  This web service will be offered free of charge until complications arise with speed of code retrieval and/or traffic/processing problems in PhoenixPo.com's web hosting service.  If abused, the service may be taken down entirely without notice.

Privacy Policy:

We will only use data provided to us via this "add user" form for display on and administration of the Codic Engine .Net site.  Email addresses and their corresponding codes will not be sold or given away to any third-party person or organization.  Information can be released with the information owner's (the user's) express consent.  I, the site creator/administrator will occasionally send personal emails to check on how well the Engine is meeting your needs.  If you have any suggestions on how to improve our services, please do not hesitate to email me at Kaine at PhoenixPo.com.

Codes that you make and store on this site's database will be viewable by any user, registered or otherwise.  My intent in doing so is to allow people to find others with common interests.  This feature may or may not be available before the end of February of 2004.
