After tinkering even more, I stumbled across the solution to my problem plaguing DevFolio ASP .Net database writes.  If everything worked out, I had to uninstall the FrontPage Server Extensions (FPSE), set the directory permissions manually, reinstall the FPSE, and use FrontPage to upload the databases and cause it to ask me for a DSN entry (which I am not using, except as a confirmation).  This is the short form, though complications with reinstalling the FPSE caused this not to work properly.

The short form of this is to announce we are now playing with fire.  For the next two to three weeks, we will be uploading various development projects to DevFolio and linking them to various places or simply notifying parties.  The bulk of that time will be spent creating pseudo accounts for practically everything listed in PhoenixPo.com's portfolio.  These pseudo accounts will be used to demonstrate live systems to prospective clients.  If you are interested in our systems during this time, please send an email (email on the portfolio menu bar) and you will be presented with a way to log in and view the systems to gauge my current potential to your organization.

Using that tangent, the job search is still on--that is, when I can put down my work for long enough to search for a job.  I am looking for either an ASP .Net or photography job around Greensboro, NC that pays more then $50K.  I am aware those two careers do not seem related, but photography can definitely balance out web design, and both subject areas are things in which I excel.  Help desk positions are acceptable as well because I've done that sort of work for three years already.  Anyway, I'll continue the job search once I've finished work.  Work for others comes before personal items--part of my grand personal code of ethics.  At least whomever I work for won’t have to worry about trusting me and where I stand on the ethical front...
