From the "Things that Make Me Smirk" department, we have an event that happened on the way back to my place today:
Most people are acquainted with "thumping" one way or another. "Thumping" is when someone has the bass in his/her car turned up so loud it makes things vibrate--the car, other's cars, one's skin/teeth/other body part, or drink cup so you don't have to keep stirring it. Today, I met just such a thumper in a champagne Toyota Corolla.
The person had one of those leaf air fresheners hanging from his/her rear view mirror. It was a standard leaf, purple in color. What got me smirking and transfixed was that the leaf seemed to jump each time the bass thumped. So, here I was at a red light getting my entertainment from watching a leaf air freshener pop like a jumping bean every time the person's car thumped.
It almost makes me want to get a leaf and make my car thump.
(P.S. All through this entry I kept smirking and halfway laughing every time I thought of the thumping leaf.)
