Those who know me personally can say when I think of some random thing to buy, it will normally be something so specific and specialized (and out of season) that no store seems to cary it. For reference, I wanted a room fan three years ago... in the middle of winter. Another example can be cited by reviewing the only things I have hanging up at my place: a faded rainbow windsock from when I was eight, a black Japanese scene felt scroll, and a medieval-like dragon banner I got from some yard sale in 2000 (or so). Yep--randomness.

The object of my search this time is a very simple wind chime. I included a GIF to the right. Looks simple enough. Unfortunately, many stores don't carry them: Welcome Home, Carolina Pottery, Hallmark, some random garden store off I-95, Lowe's, Wal-Mart (I hate Wal-Mart), K-Mart (I hate Wal-Mart more), Dragon Seed, Garden Ridge, and some home shop in the Four Seasons Mall.

The wind chime is mainly Japanese, made of glass, and makes one sound. That last part is important--one sound. I want something small, quiet, and simple. I finally went online and found a few places that carry the "furin"--its Japanese name. Once I found a few, I then wanted something specific or something to catch my eye. I even used google.jp, but that wasn't much help.
So... What shall I do? I will continue my search for the next day or two. If I don't find something I want by then, I will continue it in a few months or years. It's something interesting. If I find it, I find it; if I don't, I don't.
On another note, I finished shopping for my brother's wedding gifts and even wrapped them. I now just have to get my calligraphy pen out and write on the wedding card. That will take some motivation and will not be done for a while.
Finally, I am waiting for interview #3 for Blue Rhino--the technical interview. If all goes well, I will go on to, perhaps, another interview or hear if I get an offer. It's an interesting company, I feel as if I can fit well there, and it will seem interesting (or fun: the most important part).
