I updated the custom-made JavaScript that handles the menus.  The problem was that they disappeared too quickly for my taste.  The updated JavaScript now times out before removing the menu from sight.  On the up side, moving the mouse accidentally outside the menu will not close it immediately.  On the down side, I had some problems with multi-level menus, so the albums by topic feature has been taken down.

I like the site's header.  I think I did a good job.  Therefore, I will work on creating a second, alternating header (aside from the Dr. White only version) to on the page.  My goal is to have about four or five of these things.  Since quality can't be rushed, I'm in a lazy slump, and I don't want to make something if it doesn't turn out well, these new header banners will be slow in coming.  I plan to work on the first in October, or wait to include something from Halloween again.  Others may come out in a four to twelve month interval--whenever I can visualize a design with the pictures I have on the site. 

I'd love to include a snow picture in the banner.  I feel it would be dangerous to take snow pictures from here on out because it would involve me driving to campus with other people on the road.  I am reminded of last year, when I went in an outside lane to pass a slow SUV.  I began accelerating and the SUV, without turning signals, moved in my lane.  Breaking quickly to avoid colliding with a stupid Greensboro driver, my car lost traction and scraped the ditch with its front wheel.  I ended up with a broken hubcap, bent wheel rim, and something still not right in the suspension.  (Stupid, inconsiderate, ego-centric people...)  Anyway, I probably won't go for campus snow pictures until after December 2006--the month I want to get a new car (it will be 4WD and a WRC base model, perhaps a WRX or LanEvo).
