I promised myself last year that I would try to take a lot of pictures of Triad-area haunted attractions in 2005. That plan has not changed.
I plan to add "Woods of Terror" (Church Street) to my list this year, among others. I wanted this one because it's close and I don't have to drive almost an hour to get to it, like "Hacker House". I will, of course, still consider making a few appearances at "Haunted Forest" this year as well.
The overall plan is very simple: Visit a haunted attraction as a paying guest, introduce myself to the people after it (usually as the person who emailed them ahead of time), take pictures that night and most likely the next, and put them up on DevFolio, linked from PhoenixPo.com. I think I will have the "Haunted Attraction Pictures" link on the main PhoenixPo.com navigation bar until the beginning of December, then I will put it elsewhere.
So, what's the catch? I honestly don't really have one. It's just another one of my schemes to get myself out doing something I find fun and relaxing. Altruism being difficult to swallow, I can always say it's to put more pictures in my portfolio. Those putting on the haunted attraction are welcome to use the pictures on their web site, provided I get credit for taking them. Any other use beyond that--especially where I don't get credit--is not allowed.
For more information, go to the Haunted Pictures Page. The page contains the rules of this project and links to pictures I have already done.
My complete list of haunted attractions of which I am interested: Haunted Forest, Woods of Terror, Hacker House, Kersey Valley Spookywoods, and Silent Forest (Raleigh). I am using NCHaunts.com as an exclusive source since I don't know where else to look. I'm open to suggestions...
