[This entry makes reference to an entry made two days ago concerning ConTrak compatibility.]
Well, ConTrak's once more compatible in both IE and Firefox. As I wrote before, that's more difficult than it seems since I'm doing a lot of nice stuff client-side.
Does anyone have any experience with DIFF files? I found a patch that covers a problem I have been having with a few components, but it's in DIFF format. I know that means I can apply the information in that text file to the master one, but the manual changes I made don't seem to work when I apply them. That means either I don't know enough about DIFF files for it to be effective or the path doesn't work in my test environment (either is just as likely). That's why I've never liked third-party software; you didn't write it, so it's just that more difficult for you to fix it.
Moving right along, this is my report on ConTrak progress. I am slowly creating the Convention Wizard and getting the kinks out of my shared components. These wizard pages are available for offline review: intro, con info, departments, con owners, and con admins (the admin page does not yet save its data). Once the wizard is complete, I will run it by a few more people and document it here. I also admit I am stalling. I have a basic layout concept, but nothing that uses the leftover white space to my liking. It doesn't matter: once I finish the wizard I will begin creating the major pages anyway. If I don't have a good design by then, I'll just have to sit down for a few hours until I can force one out.
