The ConTrak Systems Project  "ConTrak Systems", or ConTrak, is a web-based system for managing and analyzing conventions.  ConTrak has been developed specifically to suit fan-based conventions, handling such areas as registration, art show, auction, dealer room, game tables, and finances (among others).  ConTrak will also include multiple security features, including giving users access to perform only very specific tasks, such as adding registrations or editing the auction.  This is PhoenixPo.com W&D's most ambitious project to date, do to the project's breadth and possible usefulness.  This project overview will provide an in-depth look at ConTrak for interested parties.

Project Begin Date:  May 2004.  This is the official date work began on the formal version of ConTrak Systems. 

Version One End Date:  December 2004.  This is the projected end date of ConTrak v1 for use with our convention (in February/March 2005).  However, there will be one more release before a commercial application will be released for the public.

Who Is In Charge:  Christopher, the owner of PhoenixPo.com W&D, has claimed this project as his own.  As such, no other designer or programmer is developing this system.

Cost to Conventions:  At this time, we cannot confirm pricing matters.  We know we will ask for a staff convention badge if the system is used.  We will also request to meet with at least five key members on the convention committee to interview for new additions/improvements in ConTrak.

What's Needed to Run ConTrak:  ConTrak will be run on our web server until at most seven days before the convention.  You will receive an at-convention version of ConTrak Systems to run during your convention.  The at-convention version is provided because most conventions do not have access to the Internet.  The at-convention version of ConTrak will download all convention information from our server for use at the convention and lock the data on our server to prevent against duplication.  The at-convention version will be operable for seven days.  After this, you will not be able to do anything but upload the data to the online web server (done to prevent against theft of our software).  The at-convention version must be run on Windows XP Pro with IIS and the .Net Framework installed (free, if you have Windows XP Pro).  ConTrak is also optimized to run on a wireless network at your convention (a free service, at our option, if we attend your convention).

Where Can I Get ConTrak?  ConTrak will not be available until after March 2005 at the earliest.  We at PhoenixPo.com W&D believe in releasing only thoroughly tested software for such important activities as convention planning and management.
