ResNet Work Order Entry System (WOES)
ResNet, a division of information technology at UNCG, is responsible for
connecting students to the campus network, resolving issues for disconnections
(for hacked, virus-infected, and copyright-infringing machines) and acting as a
general tech support help desk if the problem affects a student's network
settings. Work orders are placed for and by ResNet employees to handle
these kinds of problems in the student's room.
The WOES not only manages work orders; it can automatically assign and email
work orders to employees based on dorm assignments and/or number of completed
work orders. For instance, the current version of the WOES will assign
work orders based on dorms or not, then by the employee that either has the
least amount of open work orders or the least total work orders. When
logging into the system, an employee sees his or her open work orders on the
home page and can quickly mark work orders as complete or click the link and
provide a more detailed description of the work order's resolution.
