Haunted Attraction Photography by Christopher Hall

Forest of Horror  (2006-10-13)
The first night of shooting at Forest of Horror for this year and it's "let's see what's new" time.  The trail is longer, it turns you around, there are more and many new scenes.  Plenty to keep me busy.  The old favorites are back: the chainsaw pit, vortex, ghosts, and front section.  Some favorites, such as the room with the TV, had been changed around.

Photographing groups going through the attraction was enjoyable.  Due to my unfamiliarity with the new winding trail, it made it difficult to know with any precision just how far a group was from a particular act.  Unfortunately, that meant waiting longer than I wanted for the next group to come by.  That was fine, but meant I was dedicated to taking that shot.

The Grand Experiment:  Most experimental photography happens at this attraction.  For instance, it was here I first created and began the process of refining my ghosting technique.  While shooting that night, a new technique came to mind and I decided to try it out in the chainsaw pit.  What if I can get the entire pit to spin around and wind up with a clown that wasn't spinning?  I tried it and it's not too bad, though I need more work.  You'll see what I mean towards the end of the pictures shown for the night.  What do you think?  Promising?
