Haunted Attraction Photography by Christopher Hall

Nightmare on Scales Street  (2009-10-03)
I was free to go to any attraction for this shooting night, so I chose to stop in at Nightmare on Scales Street. I remembered where it was from just the one visit last year. You can tell they've been working hard on the attraction when you walk up: a three story facade faces the street. Very impressive.
This attraction is rather different from your usual haunts. It takes place on a main, downtown street. Absent are the trails, corn, and oversize sets that are the standard fare of most attractions. While the attraction, indoors, is limited to using the existing rooms and layout of the building, it does so with such creativity that such a restriction seems almost a trivial matter. The tigher space forces--guarantees, really--groups to be small in number, which I have always found work better to promote a more personal frightening experience. How many times have you been in a large group only to find the scare had already happened by the time you got into the scene?
